OK, no more me schlepping anyone around town, because last night I had a near fatal car wreck while driving home from a live shot in Jefferson City. I was in the station’s piece of crap Kia Sportage, and the car spun out, made two 360s, then flew off the highway backward, hitting the hill embankment on the side of the road, then flipped over two, and almost three complete times before being thrown onto its side, ending our vertigo experience. Glass shattered all around us, and the only way to get out of the car was through a broken window, so my friend Tim and I climbed out through that shattered glass.
Eyewitnesses told us we shouldnt be alive, and Im amazed that I got off with only a couple gashes from the glass and soreness. Ryan and Matthew took me to the hospital after Tim and I stayed on the side of the road with the patrol man and the firemen, filling reports for awhile. I got home at 2:30 and from now on will be making Ryan drive me everywhere. That is, after I get up out of bed, Im on some prescrition pain killers and have been prescribed muscle relaxers, but taking those just freaks me out.
